JWP are highly skilled in repairing and replacement of defective masonry. We are frequently contacted by churches and owners of other listed buildings where render has been applied with the wrong materials used in past work. Many of our renders are lime-based in different strengths and we use horse or yak hair, just as it would have been many years ago!

Stone Restoration

Here at JWP Concrete & Stone Restoration we offer a range of Stone Restoration work, ranging from fully restoration of your property to small ornate Stone. We use a wide range of coloured repair mortar and work to a high standard. We will remove eroded stone back to sound stone using a masons mallet and a toothed chisel. For Deeper areas of the repair we insert stainless steel fixings to exposed masonry to ensure the subsequent repair has a strong grip to stone. If the stone needs full replacement we can take sizes and profiles of the stone to be replaced. Then remove the defective stone and new stone is fitted in its place. The new stone is finally pointed with lime mortar and cleaned off with a sponge, leaving a nice clean finish.

With our Lime re-pointing we use a high graded sand with 3.5 NHL lime. We will finish the works with a lime wash with a prefect finish for lime render and plaster. All products are totally breathable and come in a range of colours.
